PUBLIC SERVICES UPDATE

As many of you may have heard, the Ontario Government has increased gathers from 5-10. Church services can be held up to 30% capacity. For Keele that will mean 60 people. This takes effect today (June 12, 2020).

As you can imagine, we can’t just open up without thinking through the process in order to make everyone safe and the outcome as positive as possible. This is going to take some time and planning. The Board is going to have to work through all the issues. In fact, there is a good chance that a special reopening committee may be initiated for this purpose. If you are interested in being on this community, message me and I will let the board know.

Ultimately, we are not going to open until we have a plan firmly in place. This is going to take a few weeks. So I, not the board, have set a tentative goal date of reopening to public worship on July 12th.

Please continue to keep the reopening in your prayers. Part of me says, “I want to be together now” but that is just my feelings. We have to do what is best for the congregation and our community so we have to wait a bit longer while we work toward a safe and successful reopening.

In the meantime, we do have some good news. This Sunday the worship team will be back to its full complement. And we will continue to Facebook Live Stream on Sundays at 11:00 am (EDT).

It is my hope that we will continue to Facebook Live stream the service moving forward, even when we return to public services in our building. It has been wonderful to see how the Lord has connected us with new friends and old friends alike! May the Lord continue to use and expand our efforts to share His love and His Word. May all that we do in the days ahead glorify Him!
