Mountains are beautiful things. The view from a mountaintop is the motivation for the climb, but climbing mountains take effort. Mountains block progress. Mountains block our view until we conquer them.
Every life has mountains. We all face things that block our view from the straight line of where we want to go. We all find ourselves in valleys, looking for a way out, a way up.
One of the mountains, or obstacles, in all our lives is waiting. No one likes to wait. Waiting moves from annoyance to extreme worry, depending on what we are waiting for.
This week Grant puts waiting in the context of God's working. Waiting is probably never pleasant, but the results can be worthwhile and necessary.
“For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.”
(2 Corinthians 4:5, NIV)
Every Wednesday we get together to pray and study God’s Word.
We begin with our study at 6:30 pm. This is a time of informal, relational study together. We have a lot of laughs and lots of serious discussions as we seek to understand and apply God’s Word to our lives.
Then at 8:00 pm a group of dedicated people lifts the ministries and concerns of the congregation and community to the Lord. If you have a concern you would like prayed for, or if you would like to be present to be prayed for, you can email Grant.
Would you like to meet some new friends and practice speaking English? Beginning Saturday January 27, 10:00 to 12:00 pm, we will be offering free ESL classes. If you are interested in attending a class please email [email protected]
